I'm having trouble getting Sparkle to work on my laptop (Firefox) so I haven't been able to help much.

Do you have any particular error messages or anything? I'm not much of a Firefox guy myself, but @codingisfun2831t has expressed interest in improving Sparkle's support there.

Mainly for addons, they either do nothing or completely break the editor

What specific addons are you using? Can you send screenshots?

I ran it in firefox, and I think it's stuck somewhere in JSON.parse calls

I'm not at my computer currently so I can't send any screenshots, but I tried using both Jameson Compatibility (which did nothing) and Better Flat Design (which glitched out the editor to the point I couldn't even access any menus...)

Well, Jameson Compatibility doesn't make any visible changes, it just modifies Snap! slightly so it will play nice with Jameson projects.

I'd expect atleast some new options in the primitive block, but I didn't see any.

Try looking for extensions (not ordinary primitives) starting with "websockets".

By the way, in the great codeoff discussion, please try blocking coderabbitai; they are an AI bot that doesn't really add anything to the conversation

@coderabbitai's meant to be a laughingstock I think. If it gets on your nerves, you can unsubscribe or block it yourself.

yeah, I started to read the README and it allows vibe code agents

You should try reading the AGENTS.md, which pushes in the opposite direction a bit. I don't really like the idea of their vibecoding agents and I'm not a contributor there, but the OmniBlocks repo is where we all meet to chat about stuff.

@Bubgamer07 Hold on... how in the world did you manage to even install Sparkle on Firefox, let alone use it?

Edit: Nevermind, figured it out; apparently you have to install the manifest.json file and not the .zip.

@Bubgamer07 @e016 I think that I've found the issue; someone (@codingisfun2831t perhaps?) forgot to make the default value of the data variable a string if the relevant localStorage data can't be found. This bug seems to affect both Chromium and Firefox, and should be fixed soon. Relevant patches in need of review at #37.

Edit: @Bubgamer07 Though I can reproduce the JSON error, I can't seem to reproduce your issues with addons. Can you try the built-in Sparkle at Jameson and tell me if it works properly?
